Gary Windiate – Director / Architect
Windiate Architects was set up in 2007 by Gary Windiate, a seasoned project architect with more than 15 years of experience in Australia and the UK. Gary has worked for some of Victoria’s best-known architectural practices, including Daryl Jackson, Jackson Clements Burrows, and Wood Marsh Architecture, and holds an A+ membership from the Australian Institute of Architects. While Windiate Architects has grown into a thriving and personalised practice, with three permanent architects on staff, Gary continues to dedicate his personal design and managerial expertise to every project the company takes on – be they specialised residential renovations or complex commercial developments.
Monica Shanley – Architect
Monica started her architectural career in Sydney, and following a year working in Japan primarily on urban design and residential projects, moved to Melbourne. In Melbourne, Monica has enjoyed participating in the rich local design culture through her work with several award winning architectural practices. Her broad experience encompasses many building types, including educational and institutional, however she finds residential projects to be the most rewarding. Monica particularly enjoys working on the construction detailing of a building, bringing into focus the elements which reflect the principle ideas of the design concept.
Biki Bajracharya – Architect
Biki is an experienced graduate architect with work experience in Tasmania, Melbourne and Nepal on different scale and types of projects including residential houses, apartments, educational, commercial and hospitality projects. No matter the scale of the project, he focuses on sense of place to make each project specifically respond to its environment and people. He likes to work closely with clients, so that their requirements are reflected in design with a better outcome.
Cara Brogno – Student of Architecture
Having graduated with a Bachelor’s degree majoring in Architecture from The University of Melbourne at the end of 2015, Cara joined the Windiate team shortly after, devoting 2016 to gaining practical experience in a residential architecture environment. She continues as part of the team in a part time position since commencing her Masters of Architecture degree at The University of Melbourne in 2017.
